They shouldn’t because they don’t need to.

Mexico has one of the richest cultures in boxing with some of the greatest fighters of the planet proudly being from Mexico.

            Duran is proudly panameño.

Along with Caballero, Jones, Laguna, Frazer and all the other panameño world champs.

He was born in Panama. Naseem Hamed was born in the UK.

Naseem is not a Mexican fighter, he is a UK fighter. Duran is not a Mexican fighter, he is a Panamanian fighter. The same way Jeff Horn is an Australian fighter and not a UK fighter. Mexican is not a race, it's a nationality, hence why a pale as a ghost ginger man is the most popular fighter in Mexico.

Yea he does he’s gone on record saying he’s proud of his Mexican heritage.

I personally don't know anyone that has. He was born in Panama and represents that country.

I would not even see how someone could or why it would matter. I always repped US when I boxed because this is where I am from even though my family is from Mexico generations down the line.
