    also...

    whofkncares... ?

the number of divisions you represent is not the criteria for greatness

Willie Pep is greater than Pac, and he only fought in one division

who did Pac beat ? ... is a much better question
Exactly. What’s the point in harping on paper resumes for current guys who’s careers we’ve seen play out before our eyes? Pacquiao’s career should be judged on who he fought, the caliber of his opponents at the time, and how he looked in the fights.

People can’t make up their minds. One minute their whining about the numerous belts, the antics/politics of these governing bodies, people being paper champs......only to turn around and give all the politics full weight when it suits their agenda.

      He won 8 division championships.

154 was a circus fight. Neither should had a shot to that title and it was an in house money fight.

You cannot hold a title and be beaten below its weight and keep that title, so if you hold a higher weight title it automatically is on the line if you are defending a lower weight title.
Well no, not true. Only Floyd’s WBC 154lb title was at stake. If Maidana had won, Floyd would still have been the WBA Super 154lb champion. Nor was Dawson stripped of his title when he lost to Ward at 168

Weight classes have no minimum weight but sanctioning bodies make their own rules as they go along. Up to them if they sanction their titles

          8. He beat up a professional boxer who was 165 pounds with 8oz gloves.

and whats up with Pac using 8oz gloves in a JMW title fight ?

could Pac have kept cheato off him with 10's... ?
152 is not a weight title if Canelo weighed 154 than I give credit to Floyd but 152 remains an asterisk

8 for me. His wins over Hatton and Barrera are definitely more legitimate than his win over David Diaz for example. Personally, I always value title lineage over ABC belts.

They must have changed things, the WBC was normally how Ive always known it, thanks for clearing that up.

Point is he didnt really defend the 154 belt it went along for a free ride because he was defending his 147 belt.
