Definitly the worse TR card of the summer.
It wasn't good and I also watched. Herring probably would have beaten Oquendo but it in TR's defense, that main event was scrapped at the last minute and Mayer's opponent was supposed to be a test; Helen Joseph had fought relatively competitive against Persoon in her last fight.

I'm no fan of Arum but I'm not going to criticize these cards too heavily when they flop because they have had some downright good ones as well (Greer vs Plania comes to mind).

I'm with you. As it stands right now, the only cards we have are these Top Rank events on Tuesday and Thursday nights. They have a limited pool of fighters to draw from for a number of reasons. Fights are getting scrapped because of the testing protocols. There is no live gate and they can only get certain fights and fighters to fill these cards with the economic and logistic limitations the pandemic causes.

Meanwhile, PBC, Golden Boy and Matchroom have been crickets...yet we complain about the one promotion who is putting on events twice a week.

Hey folks we're in the middle of a pandemic & the main event was canceled.

I thought things were relatively decent given that they're putting out 8 fights a week now.

To me, if we're not gonna get the best fighting the best due to our circumstances, the most we can hope for is to watch some up & coming prospects and we got that with Clay Collard & Mikaela Mayer, neither who disappointed to me.

I like Mayer, she uses her height and boxes off the jab. Good footwork as well.

Guess I shouldn't be surprised with Al and Manny in her corner

Top class womens boxing is great. Mayer's opposition was not. She needs to step up. She can't wait for the Taylor payday as it will go to Cyborg, Holm and the like. And that is after Persoon, Breakhaus and maybe, if she has a pair, Serrano.
