Comments Thread For: Luis Nery Aims To Unify Division, Ranks The Top Fighters at 118

Tijuana's Luis "Pantera" Nery is a boxer who is very clear about his short-term and long-term objectives. "I see myself with the four titles at bantamweight (WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF) and at super bantamweight. That is my long-term goal. There is talent and there is enough time to achieve it," said Nery in an interview with Ernesto Amador.

This guy is delusional. Talented yes, but undisciplined. How many times did he fail to make weight at 118? Idk who's advising him but that person is an idot. The smart thing here is to fight 122 and forget 118, he's still young and could turn things around if he focuses on being disciplined.

Nery is not going to be unifying at 118. With full vada testing from contracts signed, I'd be surprised if he can even make that weight.

After the yamanaka bouts it’s hard to take this guy serious. How does he rate donaire above inoue after the wbss he ducked? My guess is he’ll want to take on either rigo or donaire after he passes oubali... since he rates them and gains wins over them, then he must be ranked number one in the division, right? If he gets in there with inoue, he’ll finally fight someone with similarly heavy hands, and imo more skills.

At 118 Nery is top 3 in the world. He's better than Maloney and Oubali who I believe he's KO. Manny Rodriguez would be an good fight but still think Nery would get a late stoppage. Inoue, Casimero, and Nery are the top 3. They're each devastating punchers. A round robin with these guys would be electric

Seems that in the 118 top ten, nine (9) fighters are doing VADA. Can you guess the one not enrolled..?
