Comments Thread For: Keith Thurman: I Failed In Self-Discipline With Weight, But Real Champs Come Back

Keith Thurman is ready to make a comeback after nearly one year away from the ring recovering physically from left-hand surgery and emotionally from his first career loss to the hands of Manny Pacquiao. The 31-year-old Thurman (29-1, 22 KOs) knows that once his return to the squared circle is set, his battles with the scales that he endured before the competitive split decision defeat to Pacquaio will no longer be an issue.

I like Thurman but this is just unbecoming. The excuses just keep pouring in. First it was inactivity, then a bad hand, now it is weight control. Funny how a 30 year old feels he had to be going through all of this while a 40 year fighting with those T-Rex arms and whose time is already up had to be perfectly healthy. Stop it. Take your loss and get back in line.

So Thurman admits he came into the biggest fight of his life out of shape and thinks he deserves another title shot without proving anything? Thurman may use big words every now and then, but his intelligence is lacking.

This pandemic has awarded too many boxers too much time on their hands. Idle hands...
