Would Tyson had beaten Holyfield in 1991?

Am I the only one that thinks that if they fought five years earlier, Holyfield would have got wrecked?

Holyfield during that time was very brawl happy. He stood and traded with Bert Cooper around that time and did the same thing with Bowe.

Would have been an absolute barnburner while it lasted as Holyfield's heart and pride would not allow him to throw in the towel, but if he tried to stand and trade with Tyson, he would have been outgunned by superior firepower.

No, Holyfield would have still won due to these facts

1-He was tough enough to **** with Mike

2-Mikes head movement was gone and his combos were no longer prevalent

3-Mike was a happy head hunter looking for one shot

4-Holyfield would still push him back and Mike would fade

I think it would have been very close.

A lot depends on whether and therefore how much Tyson learns from his loss to Douglas.

He did appear to improve slightly after that loss against Ruddock, but it's hard to predict how Tyson would have reacted in a fight where Holyfield doesn't either buckle or move backward.

Go back as far as you want and I think Hollyfield always beats him. Hollyfield was 4 years older than Tyson so if you make Tyson younger then Hollyfield would also be younger.Tyson was KOed by Douglas much longer than 5 years before he fought Hollyfield.

Yeah, I agree. That prison stint must have really ruined Mike Tyson's skills. He was never the same fighter once he was released from prison. He became almost an exclusive slugger after that. He had forgotten all of the fundamentals he learned from Cus D'Amato.

I used to think so but Holyfield is a dog and Mike isn’t.

Mike was never going to beat a guy like Holy. A guy who can give as well as he got, rd after rd.
