I enjoy watching both sports. I don't think boxing is finished because the UFC is doing better. There is room for both sports to thrive. It's not a race where the loser has to leave forever. Boxers still get paid many times what UFC fighters get paid and boxing is still making lots of money. To me this sounds like saying basketball is in trouble because football is more popular. They are all different sports with their own loyal fans.

The UFC is doing well, no doubt about it. But wow? You don't hear people in other sports continually prophesying the demise of their sport 'It is a extremely strange culture that only exist within boxing'.

I am not one of these people that think boxing should be run like the UFC, THAT goes against the very culture of boxing 'It has never been run by one dictator, it has always been a democracy and working class sport'.

Boxing is fine. You cannot really compare the numbers because all levels within boxing are covered 'Grassroots, novice, intermediate and elite level. The UFC is affectively the elite level of mixed martial arts, ONCE you are in the UFC you are now at elite level.

You see fights and fighters at all levels in boxing, from complete rock bottom 'To Vegas'. From the small hall shows to stadium fights 'You are only witnessing the top end of mixed martial arts continually'.

Do I want boxing to be run that way? No, the day it takes on the business model of the UFC is the day it will destroy itself.

The UFC is not going to swallow boxing, it had its peak over a decade ago 'I witnessed its peak'.

Its not like theres a particularly high bar for getting on a boxing undercard, they're famously ****ty compared to UFC undercards. And are full of prospect vs can fights to pad records.

Can you name someone from that last UFC PPV (outside of the women) who you consider to be hard to watch, a rookie and not a high level athlete?

How can you compare the skill aspect when one is boxing and one is boxing + kicboxing/muay thai, karate, wrestling, BJJ, judo etc? How much do you actually know about those none boxing arts from a technical perspective to be able to judge the skill level you're seeing?
Cant name many of the fighter as I have already said I dont watch the sport its forced down my throat

I know that Masvidal apparently the highest skill level there had something like 7 or 8 losses to people nobody has heard of and never will
Guess he didnt have full training camps a lot right haha
            Hes mediocre at best
Usman from what I keep seeing won over no fans due to stomping on toes

The only dudes I knew on the card where aldo who was knocked out in seconds by an idioy who couldnt even move an old man in a pub with a free punch

And Holloway(apparently the greatest in his weight of all time) had a rematch with the dude who beat him solely on leg kicks(not so great really) and couldnt grasp why he lost first time round

Dont know the women at all

And regarding skill level...see above with foot stomping

Not being able to understand you lost cos a dude ruined your legs when your the greatest of all time in your weight class

Being unable to even make an old man move with a free punch haha

The guys are not skilled in combat

Problem with your post is, half of those buys were people that bought so they could see Paige's new rack on full display. They were then disappointed to see her wearing a shirt for some bizarre reason.

I made a thread similar to what you are saying during Rhonda times about how the 2 sports can coexist but UFC needs to back off and concentrate on it's own sport

The UFC has passed boxing in popularity decades ago. Unfortunately, the fighters in MMA are often used as pawns because they don't make anywhere near what the average and typical boxer does.
