You can call the UFC boxings lil sister if you want, but lil sister has muscled in on boxings territory massively in the last 15 or so years. They're every bit equals now in terms of popularity and mainstream exposure. Its not like the 90s/early 00s when boxing fans could be snobbish and complacent about it.
Nah theres multiple pages stating hes the floyd of the wrestling mma universe

And just because something is popular doesnt mean it doesnt look up to boxing...boxers rarely mention the ufc but mma fighters constantly talk boxing same with Dana white
It creeps on the boxing page a lot though which does my nut as it's not boxing

I'm not snobbish at all I just cant watch a sport with bare feet, naked chokes and dudes heads constantly sniffing ball sack

It's hardly a sport just pumped up dudes holding for 5 rounds ..or they box haha

It is the end of the world for boxing, the sport is not going to exist anymore.

Everyone must now watch the UFC.

Boxingscene.com is closing down at 12.00am tonight guys.

Note: Most people on here who make topics like this, show how easily influenced weak and feeble they are. I am a supporter of many Olympic sports that are not really mainstream, what relevance does it have if another sport is more popular than those Olympic sports to me? None, it is of no relevance.

Pathetic thread, pathetic posters throughout the entire forum.

Seems pretty even to me. You see boxing related **** on MMA forums and MMA related **** on here. You see boxers like Whyte and Fury talking about going into MMA and MMA fighters like Conor and Stipe talking about going into boxing. Floyd used to make salty *****y comments about MMA way back in the 00s as well, so did Arum who is probably going to die of saltiness now that hes sharing a network with it.

You already know there are people that would say boxing is just two thugs punching each other in the face too. Its all relative. You're massively downplaying what "holding" and "boxing" (in an MMA setting) actually is from a technical perspective.

I was just saying, if it's a boxing PPV, you know you're getting high quality athletes competing.

A LOT of UFC guys are very hard to watch. But that's because a lot of them just got into the sport within the past couple years. It's understandable, but still difficult to look at a lot of the times.

It's far from even and never will be

Boxing is top shelf and UFC is Underneath in many ways but mainly in terms of skill
This is why when a UFC fighter wins the first thing he/she does is say I wanna fight floyd, canelo or fury

              Rhonda with floyd
              Conor with Floyd/Canelo
Overeem with Fury if I remember correct

Boxers dont win a big fight and then call out Usman

Dont know who stipe is to comment

I'm not downplaying anything The UFC is either wrestling holding or boxing...with danielson crane kicks for effect haha

Good numbers. My girlfriend's brother ordered it, I went to their house to watch.

It was a good card top to bottom (I don't really follow UFC, obviously Boxing first for me)

                Rose is a bad ass.

I was rooting for Masvidal but then I learned about the short notice and weight cut. I knew he wouldn't win.

Bro.........the last boxing PPV card (Fury/Wilder 2) had Charles Martin vs Gerald Washington in the co main for ****s sake. It also had a 4-0 guy vs a 1-2 guy on it. Its not like theres a particularly high bar for getting on a boxing undercard, they're famously ****ty compared to UFC undercards. And are full of prospect vs can fights to pad records.

Can you name someone from that last UFC PPV (outside of the women) who you consider to be hard to watch, a rookie and not a high level athlete?

How can you compare the skill aspect when one is boxing and one is boxing + kicboxing/muay thai, karate, wrestling, BJJ, judo etc? How much do you actually know about those none boxing arts from a technical perspective to be able to judge the skill level you're seeing?

I don’t support UFC because of Dana White. He takes advantage of these fighters and pays them well below their worth. Yes he controls who fights who but these guys and girls risk their lives and many will have long term health issues that Dana White isn’t worried about.
Their biggest draw had to go to boxing to finally get paid what he was worth.
Good for Dana White he found a way to still profit off his athletes during a pandemic.
It did a big number because sports fans spend money and are starved for live events this year.
Boxing is harder to do with no fans as the fighters have more leverage in their purses and the live gate is a big part of that.
