Its pretty random, but they're two big stars - period, regardless of combat sports.

You can easily turn this the other away and say...why are two of three biggest boxing stars on the planet today appearing in a UFC game rather than an actual boxing game?

If a new Fight Night came out they'd probably put Conor in it.

I said this would happene wks ago, its because of the pandemic, Dana was smart in getting the fights out there while people are locked down . Now is very good time to have PPV fights.

You mean he compared himself to Mayweather because everyone was accusing him of being boring just like Floyd. Not quite the same thing lol.

You can call the UFC boxings lil sister if you want, but lil sister has muscled in on boxings territory massively in the last 15 or so years. They're every bit equals now in terms of popularity and mainstream exposure. Its not like the 90s/early 00s when boxing fans could be snobbish and complacent about it.

How many of those buys were from bored, jobless quarantined sheep with nothing better to do than follow the hype-train of Masvidal who now has an amazingly large casual following? 1.3 million people got to witness just how f__king boring an MMA 'fight' can be and a lot of them will not purchase another card.

(To touch on another note, I have not seen such a large casual following of a fighter since Conor Mcgregor. So many people who never had any interest in MMA/the UFC have been commenting on Jorge Masvidal and how much of a 'tough guy gangsta' he is. It's so cringey seeing these little twerps talking about MMA now when they never showed any interest, they are just jumping on a bandwagon, the equivalent of seeing some 100 pound skinny white kid wearing gold chains, basketball shorts and playing some gay rap from his phone trying to look cool and 'fit in').

They'll abandon ship now after Jorge's loss so don't expect Jorge's next card to have the same numbers and Usman....his next card will probably sell 1.3 million promises to NOT have to see him fight ever again.

Meanwhile Bob Arum's cards are consistently getting 300,000 viewers on ESPN.

Those big boxing fights have become increasingly infrequent after Floyd/Pac though. The UFC is able to go to PPV every few weeks and average similar numbers to what boxing has produced with Spence, recent Pac fights and the first Fury/Wilder fight. And they're able to break 1m or 500k more regularly and with a wider range of names in the main event than boxing can. Boxing has big spikes once every blue moon but its not a consistent PPV draw like the UFC is.

Yep they feed boxing fans **** and some people feel obligated to defend it out of pride or whatever. Just look at what **** Nosferatu is trying to shovel on ESPN for the next month compared to what the UFC is putting out on the same ****ing network over the same time period. And then he wonders why his cards are bombing.
