Comments Thread For: Ryder: To Beat Smith To Canelo Fight Would Be Karma, Justice!

John Ryder would love to get even with his domestic rival Callum Smith - by securing a potential September fight with Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez. In November of last year, Ryder lost a controversial twelve round unanimous decision to Smith, who holds the WBA's super middleweight crown.

Number 1 super middleweight in the world, has a better resume than Benavidez and Plant and would make Canelo number 1 in 3 weight divisions simultaneously!

Canelo vs Ryder for super middleweight supremacy!

I'd rather see Ryder get it. Let's face it, Smith ain't beating Canelo. But that last one was a blatent robbery with sky sports letting the guys brother doing the commentary lol. And Bellew, pretending he hadn't seem Ryder robbed because he's mates with the Smiths. It was pathetic, so good luck to Ryder.

If Ryder had got the decision against Smith and not lost to Fielding, Arnfield & Blackwell I would agree with him.

If Callum Smith wanted more money before COVID-19 then I doubt he will take the September date as it will be less money.
I think they should give it to Ryder aswell.

To be fair to Ryder, his performance against Smith was heartwarming. He deserves any break that comes his way after that, whether it be a scrap with Canelo or rematch with Smith.

                    Part joke and part truth!

Callum was universally considered the best at 168 and Ryder beat him soundly, discounting the judges who obviously were told what to do by Hearns!

Yes he lost to low level fighters but that’s boxing and it could happen, we’ve seen the greats lose to fighters they should’ve beaten in their sleep!

Ryder’s “win” over Smith alone is better than anything Benavidez and Plant has done combined!

That’s why I said Canelo vs Ryder for super middleweight supremacy!

If the judges didn’t take the envelope from Hearns, Ryder would be the WBA/WBC interim/Lineal/Ring champion!

Canelo beating Ryder should make him the consensus number 1 like he is at 175 and 160 but it looks like he’s done with 160 for good so let’s just say for now his win over an undefeated Golovkin is Better than anything anyone has done at 160 and his KO over 3x champ Kovalev is better than anything anyone has done at 175 (minus Eleider Alvarez/Beterbiev)!

Like I said, it’s part joke but there’s some truth to it!
