I mean his average purse was around half a million a fight ( on a good day) so to claim 40 million in damages is a stretch. Damages are maybe around the 2 to 3 million range.
This is less about the $$$ than the principle of it all.
Now if he wins the amount he is asking for I will be happy for him as it opens the door for other fighters to see this as an avenue to address any blatant unfair treatment.

About time these cl0wns are held accountable.

The was all Fish Face Warren's doing.

He knew Liam Smith was a bum and wanted him to face another bum instead of facing Trout, who he had no chance of beating.

Trout is 2-3-1 since Hernandez but is seeking 40mil in damages? LOL! Even if he won the belt in 2015 and made 5 defenses he wouldn't have made anywhere near 40mil. Besides, Trout always been BORING.

Personally I wish we could do away with all the bull**** sanctioning bodies, and just have one. Way too many titles for far too long diluting the quality, and integrity of the sport.

Wow Andrade turning down Charlo... that was a long time. That was as a career killer. Andrade's career has been irrelevant.

I'd respect him more if he just came out and said as much.
You're looking at this the wrong way.

Rather, the reason none of the PBC fighters are going after the wbo is because of this lawsuit.

Ever since this lawsuit started, PBC have kept themselves away from the wbo belt in all the weight classes.

The last time I think a PBC fighter held the wbo was Andy Ruiz, and even then it was because Joshua held the IBF and WBA too that he fought Joshua.

PBC fighters simply don't fight for the WBO since the Trout incident.

It's also part of the reason Spence is saving Crawford for last. He knows that even if he beats Crawford he won't be able to hold on to that belt.

Better to save him for last then, become undisputed and then drop all the belts so that he can move up.
