If Hasim Rahman can retain his heavyweight title against Oleg Maskaev on Aug. 12 (HBO PPV) in Las Vegas, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has big plans and a lot of frequent-flier miles for him.

Arum told ESPN.com that he is talking to Showtime boxing boss Ken Hershman about holding a Rahman title defense Nov. 4 in Macau, a special administrative region of China located off the southern coast that has become a major tourist destination and enjoys autonomy from mainland China similar to Hong Kong's.

Good Brock will finally get a well deserved loss on his record.

I know that is harsh but he needs to step up and fight.

i highly doubt this is true, rahman has publicly stated that he wants klitschko, why would he be saying so while making plans to fight brock at the same time.

i guess we will know by monday so the speculation is kinda pointless

IMO, the likelyhood of this fight happening is very remote. Calvin Brock is not as popular and crowd pleasing as Toney, Peter, or Klitschko.

Point is, not alot of money to be made from a Rahman-Brock fight, whereas a unification bout between Klitschko and Rock is definitely something the fans want and is ppv material in my opinion.

Besides, after watching Brock bore us to death in his last fight, why would we be interested in this one. A Brock-Rahman fight would probably resemble the Barrett-Rahman fight last summer.

Now if Rahman fights Brock, its 2 boring fighter going into one boring fight.
                  Which is bull****.
This fight against Maskaev is a mandatory fight for Rahman. After tonight's fight, according to the rules put in place by all four sanctioning bodies (WBC, IBF, WBA, WBO) Rahman cannot be forced to fight another mandatory. Rahman is allowed an optional defense against whoever his promoter chooses. Wlad is currently looking for his optional defense which more than likely would be Briggs, however Wlad prefers to fight Rahman if Rahman come's out victorious tonight. Simply because Wlad would make upwards of 8 million dollars against Rahman and it would help unify at least two of the belts and would help clarify who the best current heavyweight is.
