Mikey Garcia also backed himself to beat errol spence. Therefore his knack for picking winners can't be trusted and he's likely very wrong in this case too.

difference between picking a fight with yourself in it and one between two other fighters....whens the last time youve heard a fighter say "yeah im probably gonna lose this upcoming fight ive got"? LOL

that being said...im sure the last name ramirez could be influencing his choice here...

i guess picking yourself in a fight means you cant pick winners cause you lost a fight you were a huge underdog in lol

They both train outta RGBA. What's he supposed to say? Ramirez is a highly respectable champion, but he's definitely gonna gonna need something more than putting measured pressure on Crawford. Crawford has elite IQ and has the dog in him to go to war with anybody and come out on top. Would be a great fight if it does happen.

I rock with Mikey, but I can't co-sign right now. Bud is stronger than he looks. I never saw anyone manhandle or push him around in the ring, and he hurts ppl and stops them, too. It would be a good fight. I just think Jose would eat too much leather

Mikey's brother, Robert Garcia, trains Ramirez. That loyalty helps explain why Mikey thinks Ramirez has a chance to beat Bud Crawford. I can't see any other reason. Bud is several levels above Jose Ramirez. Jose is a good fighter, but not good enough to beat Crawford. I think people underestimate Bud's strength.

Garica is jut backing his friend - a biased prediction. Nothing to see here.

Forget it. Crawford needs a big fight NOW.
Not effing wait for Ramirez to properly acclimatize to a new weight.
                That will take years.

See how fckd up this sport is?
There's Porter, Thurman, Spence, Ugas, even Lipinets will do.
But Haymon won't allow them to fight Crawford.

                Worst sport in the world.

it's not just that he picked himself, it's that hes the one who chose that fight (a fight he didn't need to take because there were several other options available) because he felt he saw holes in Spence's game that he can exploit. His brother tried to deter him but he insisted that he knew better. I respected his desire to challenge himself but his poor effort at trying to win and just being content to survive turned me off. So whatever his boxing eye thought he saw with spence was clearly off. In a similar way, he likely sees holes he thinks can be exploited with Crawford by Ramirez, and I'm suspecting he's off in that scenario too.

Of course Jose Ramirez would beat Crawford! A smaller fighter and if you buy into the TR hype one of Arums favorite.. If there was any chance Crawford would win Arum would have pumped that fight along time ago.
