Despite it all, I like Haney. Saying some good things about wanting the smoke, but as someone else said, he really needs to back it up in the ring. All well and good calling everyone out, but it puts a major dampener on it if you keep fighting nobodies. Still, a defining fight must surely materialise for him sooner or later.

What's the betting he moves up to 140 before he fights one of the other standouts? He's already got Ramirez' name in his mouth and Josh Taylor.

As long as he and Lopez stay unbeaten and even if Lopez loses to Loma then they should fight each other, if not at 135 then 140.

I hope Stevenson doesn't set a trend - jumping up in weight before defending a title.

Top Rank petitioned the wbc to make Lomachenko franchise champion.

The reason is also obvious. Teofimo is with Top Rank too, Arum didn't want to risk Loma losing his belts to an outsider from DAZN.

You people always blame PBC for making inside fights instead of making fights with Crawford and then play ignorant when the same is done by Arum, the original creator of that tactic.

Arum can't make that call without Loma's permission.

Wrong again...shaheed, look it up. Interviewed Lomachenko said he had nothing to do with it and called Sulaimán a liar. The next day Mauricio Sulaimán refused to defend his statement or answer questions and never again made the claim involving Lomachenko.

Look it up, it's all verifiable.

One, Lomachenko never needed the franchise champion moniker, he was unifying and by sanction rules he owes Haney nothing.
Two, Loma won his belts in the ring, Devin Haney has never fought a single belt holder in his life.

A blatant lie.

Sanctioning rules do overule mandatories for unifications, but there is procedure for that. If the mandatory is due before the intended unification fight, then the mandatory has to go first.

You can't say "I'm unifying in eight to twelve months therefore no mandatory", it doesn't work like that.

If it did then Loma would not have accepted the franchise tag.

The franchise tag also cannot be forced on you, you can reject it like Wilder and Fury did.

Loma accepted it because he had every intention of ducking Haney.

You can fool the casuals with your little spin and you can believe Loma's lies if you want but there is proof and precedence for this. The franchise tag is not a mandatory tag, fighters can reject it. It's been done.
