That was a decent win for the 39 year old Takam. A short notice win vs a decent fighter. Forrest has the looks of a good journeyman who can go rounds. A good C+ level guy. Takam faded a bit down the stretch but pulled out a good final round to seal the deal. I think he is done as a contender though.

Rivas is too much for takam at this point but i still need to see it. Will be sad seeing takam stopped though

Takam & Duhaupas were supposed to fight a couple years ago. They signed to fight & Johann was set to start training camp following his family vacation when the Povetkin fight was offered & then his fight with Takam was scrapped...

Can you believe Ward had this fight close, he gave Forrest rounds 6,7,8 and 9. Like how?

I gave Forrest 4 rounds as well he clearly put the pressure on in three late rounds and had Takam buzzed more then the other way around ,I think the one judge who had a two rounds difference had it right . If this was a 12 rounder It may have turned out different ,Forrest could have won if he let his hands go Takams eye was really bothering him . Forrest probably won’t get to any title shot or past journey man level and Takam looks like he’s not going into any top fight either and winning at this point .

Yeah, Takam is what he is. A very solid gatekeeper. He lost all his big fights.

But I like the guy, he deserves another shot against some contender guy and a solid retirement package.

Carlos Takam is definitely a solid gatekeeper, hope he get another title shot.

I always like Carlos Takam, no matter what. This guy is tough as nails and rough fighter in the inside to handle. If his eye is good, he can fight maybe 2 to 3 years max.
