Just taking two fighters from the Wild Card gym Manny Pacquiao from the Philippines and Amir Khan from Pakistan. Both fighters have crazy fast hand speed and both fighters blood line comes from Asia.
Why do Asian fighters have such great hand speed? Pacquiao, Khan

because they're smaller in size.. when you;re not as heavy as the guy next to you, you'll be a lot quicker. this doesnt appy to asian fighters only. this goes for all lower weight fighters, which is why they're a lot faster.Comment

Just gonna throw this out there but there are something like 4500 million people in asia and furthermore Pakistan and the Phillipines are roughly the same distance apart as the US and Africa. In short Asia is big BIG and there's an awful lotta people there with an incredible range of genetic diversity and cultural heritage.
Additionally I'd speculate that having good handspeed might be contributory to boxing success and the very reason why you heard of these two particular fighters rather than the thousands of other fighters of Asian ancestry who may not be as fast is precisely because they are exceptional individuals rather than because the uncountable hordes of Asia are all blessed with superlative quickness.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 07-09-2020, 09:38 AM.Comment
