I don't agree with everyone on your list. Some belong there but others don't in my opinion. To me what matters is the shape they were in after they retired and what kind of life they had after retirement. Boxing too long ruined Ali and Floyd Patterson died young due to brain injuries. Mosley and Jones seem fine. They are wealthy men and speak clearly and seem sharp mentally. Jack Johnson enjoyed his life after boxing. He loved fast cars and died driving one too fast. Roberto Duran seems ok after his long boxing career. James Toney sounds punchy as hell and can barely talk. Hopkins was 50 before he quit fighting and of course he is in great shape mentally and physically. Some boxers can have a long career with many brutal fights and be ok after they retire and other boxers might have their health and lives ruined by the same number of fights or even fewer fights. Each boxer is different in being able to take punishment with or without a bad effect. Robinson probably suffered from having 200 pro fights but there is no record I know of that boxing shortened or ruined his life. I don't know what happened to some on your list after they retired from fighting.

Why are you bringing your armpunching circus "sport" to a boxing forum?

I’m personally a die hard boxing fan but got love for mma as well and I respect all forms of hand to hand combat.

From an MMA perspective, BJ Penn and Ken Shamrock stand out.

As well, Bob Sapp - purely because he's a disgrace to legitimate combat sport, and openly talks about taking dives.

In boxing..Ali has to take the top spot - it's arguably the saddest decline in sports history.
