It's confused me to be honest, in the UK he was a divisive character, I don't think I've actually ever met an "Amir Khan Fan"

He generated noise for whatever reason, he was always in the tabloid news, a lot of people loved watching him get Ko'd and they went viral.

It's a weird situation because honestly, he had a short purple patch of about 3-4 fights where he was good value but outside of that his career hasn't been very good really.

The only thing I can think of is he was probably popular with Asians, you know the gangs of young Indians and Pakistanis who all go to the gym in polo shirts and only ever do arm exercises, he was probably their hero.

I don't remember him ever being considered number 1 pfp or even in the top 10 pfp. He was always known for a weak chin and had been KOed in 1 round by unranked Prescott and never tried to avenge that loss even when Prescott offered him a rematch. Maidana came close to KOing him and Garcia did KO him. I don't think he was ever pfp worthy.
