Martinez is one of my favorite fighters but he looked shot to **** in his last 2 fights he should have lost to Murray and he looked battle worn in his fight against Miguel Cotto was lucky to make it out the first round. Yeah you are right some fighters age better than others but in this case Sergio relied on his legs and his knees just didn't hold up not the first fighter it's happened to.

Different fighters hit their primes at different times there is some greats that maintain that championship level from their early 20's into their mid 30's but to me I feel most fighters hit their primes from 28-35 after that it's rare to see top level guys looking explosive in their late 30's early 40's.
I understand the perspective of not wanting to see older fighters lose to guys they would have destroyed in their primes. I also understand the perspective of not wanting to spend the rest of your life wondering "what if?"

I don't think Sergio is fighting a killer in his comeback so I say let him see for himself whether he should be back in the ring. I'm sure he will find out the answer after a few rounds.

The guy is not a killer but he has been active meanwhile Sergio has been out of the ring for 6 years and looked terrible in his last 2 fights I saw videos of him training and he looks very aged and slow hopefully he can get him out of there and just retire on that because at this point he is obviously taking the fight with or without our blessing lol.

This will NOT end well for him

Old Foreman and Hopkins also had great chins and could absorb a ton of damage

          how good is Maravilla's chin?

last time I saw him he got easily battered and KO'd by little Cotto

I haven't seen footage of Sergio training but if he's aged and slow then I hope he figures that out right away. Either way he is taking the fight regardless as you said so all we can do is hope that he finds the answers he is looking for without getting seriously hurt.
