Just because Floyd has more experience that doesn’t make Canelo “green”.

    Was Thurman “green” against Pacquiao?

You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about.

A guy boxing for 8 YEARS is “green”... I’ve heard it all now.

Morales once said when asked to name the best fighter he fought, you'd expect him to say, Pacquiao or Barrera but no, this is what he said and it applies, vice versa, to both Canelo and Mayweather, it's who you were at the time of the fight and where your opponent was at the time of the fight. Canelo a few years from reaching his prime and a few lbs from a more comfortable weight and Mayweather was an accomplished first ballot hall-of-famer, maybe on the other half of his prime years but still prime.
      Good post.

The only thing I disagree with is the weight issue. Canelo continued to fight at 155 for several fights after and fought at 154 in 2016, 3 years later. It was the wide gulf in skill and inexperience that did him in not the weight

But yeah, I'm going at least a 9-9.5 here. Great performance indeed against the much younger and bigger fighter. The fight prior Canelo had just defeated Trout and a year later he beat Lara. That fight definitely helped him in the long run but was a bad styles match up as he is a natural boxer-puncher and Floyd had the quicker hand speed, reflexes and was the better counter puncher.

That win will definitely go down as Floyd's best or top 3. Years down the line some will probably say it was his best win.
        It’s crazy man...

I’ve got some guy here telling me a 42-0, 8 year pro, who was 7-0 in world title fights was a “green fighter”.

I think based on what Canelo has gone on to achieve combined with the fact that Mayweather was towards the end of his career and the naturally smaller man makes it #1. As you say though it’s at least in his top 3.

Green as in, inexperienced at the championship level. His first step-up was his previous fight against Austin Trout. Before then he mostly fought smaller, faded, past it contenders and former champions. The Trout win showed he was ready for the next level.

He’d had 7 world title fights and beaten 7 current/former/future world champions...

Floyd was vastly more experienced but Canelo was in no way “green”.

And all of those guys were past it or too small and on there way out. They were names for Canelo to feed on to gain experience and build his profile

                    You sound crazy bro.

A 22 year old vs a 36 year old favors the 22 year old.

                    Remember tyson vs holmes?
                    Remember floyd vs hernandez?

Young fighters that dominated the older hall of famer.

Don't give me that green excuse

Getting tired of having to explain how Canelo was, in fact, too green. He reached a fairly high level and began improving with every fight so Mayweather jumped on him before he got any better. Go read interviews and youtube some fight predictions at the time. No one thought Canelo was ready.
