Lemieux will only get the fight if he takes it for what's on offer. He is only getting it offered as a "cheaper option" because he hadn't done anything to merit a title fight.

Smith wasn’t offered $10 million.
Yeah and unfortunately for you Lemieux’s pay hasn’t been disclosed. But circulation within forum members feel Smith pricing himself out around $10mil is at least a figure to discuss. at least come back with numbers if you feel to defend Lemieux’s “cheap” pricing.Comment

Smith and Groves shared 7.5million for the WBSS. Take it 60/40, Smith got $4.6mill.
If Smith got less, let’s say $3.5million...
Oscar: “Smith would be getting 3-4 times his biggest payday.”
$3.5 x 3 = $10.5million
Now get’cho dumbass Canelo hating ass outta here! I funna call the police up in this hoe!! GBP knows the Ring belt and WBA Super ain’t funna come cheap that’s why they were willing to give Smith the pay.
Ez breezy!Comment

I think another factor that prevents Canelo from getting the fights at lower prices is that he's still young. Other boxers know he's not going anywhere. COVID hasn't exactly helped with getting new names on the stage. Someone like Lemieux can be pretty much certain he will get a Canelo fight, if not now then in one year or in two years. Less urgency. So why take short money now if you can make more in one year?Comment

So how much did Canelo offer BJS? $27 million?
Lol.
You think Smith and BJS turned down $10.5 million and BJS got an improved offer. You’re out of your mind.

ugh! I keep hearing names like Lemieux and Dirrell. I get that Canelo wants to maximize his profits....but who wants to see him fight guys that he can easily beat? Fighting these guys takes both "sport" and "Entertainment" out of the equation. It's like watching Canelo go to a money machine to withdraw cash.Comment

What do you mean $27 million?
How much did Jacobs make? Smith wouldn’t get as much as Jacobs, but for the Ring belt and WBA Super the $10mil makes sense. BJS is garbage at 168. They would also go for the WBO and pay the same as it gives Canelo a legitimate 168 strap.Comment

Smith and BJS got the same offer and turned it down.
BJS then got an improved offer and accepted.
You believe Smith was offered $10.5 million (based on nonsense) and said no.
That would mean BJS said no to $10.5 million and accepted an improved offer from Canelo.
Do you really think BJS was going to make more than $10.5 million to fight Canelo?
If you do, you’re insane.

Seem like Team Canelo/Oscar being cheap... And guys aint with it.
On one hand guys should take the opportunity.
On another hand why accept pennies from one if the cashcows of boxing. Who is young and u can possibly just fight him later.
Especially the guys who keep being mentioned as opponentsComment
