Was there enough contact ( if any ) to justify retracting a point from Mikkel Les Pierre? Was the Southpaw vs. Orthodox footing issue a factor in this ruling?

Honestly, I didn't think so when I saw the replay. I'm assuming Bayliss wasn't sure which is why he went to the replay but he barely looked at the video himself and just took the counsel of Byrd and others that it wasnt a KD.

To me, the punch and being off balance is what caused the KD, I didn't really notice alot of contact with the feet.

For this particular fight, it's moot because LesPierre just didn't have the firepower or dispisition to beat Pedraza. He had plenty heart and was game but didn't have the tools to change the nature of the fight.

I feel that having fellow referees at ringside, reviewing the video ahead of time from when the official ref gets to review the replay is helpful and ideal for time sake. These clips could take several replays to properly examine and make sound judgement.

In my experience, I had to take a couple minutes to spot the contact from the overhead angle. From this angle I see that the feet make contact before LesPierre's cross to the body lands on Pedraza. However, I'm not too sure, this capture is missing a frame.

Like you said, a moot point in terms of any debate, Jose clearly won. But, I appreciate the new video protocols that are being implemented in the sport, and I find that they will be a frequent topic for discussions.

It’s one thing going to replay but a whole other two change the moment of the fight
It took over two minutes for the sideline judges to call it a trip
Bayless never even looked at it
This will be a a problem as it will change the momentum of the fight

I guess Kenny Bayless trusted Byrd and Cortez review of the footage. I also see a reason for concern for the delay in the action, a few seconds make a big difference in a fight, never mind a couple minutes.

The 'Sniper' Jose Pedraza letting off that M16! How many punches did Pedraza let go in this sequence? 50?!

              It was over 2 minutes
Way to long and a chance for a fighter to replenish plenty
Between rounds it’s only 60 seconds ffs

None of the fights are competitive. The name gets a walk over.

Week victory to Puerto Rico this week, Coqui!

Good win for Jose Pedraza against LesPierre, but he need to still learn to not fall out in slugging, that is not his style.

Delay was way too long and pedraza should have finished the fight early.
