Like you said, he was part of that 1% and people vicariously live through the wealthy. Especially if that wealthy person is an athlete.

I remember hearing the upkeep of the mansion was 30k a month back then. Add to that 6 divorce settlements and 11 kids that needed child support. It all adds up.

Tyson spent millions on tigers, fancy cars, 1 divorce and lawyers for his divorce and he still ended up having more money than evander holyfield. I think Tysons earnings went up when he met his new wife who helped Tyson turn his life around and organized his financial orders and managed his comeback in the entertainment side of things.
