I recall reading one time that the maintenance alone for his estate cost $1 million a year. I'm not surprised that he blew his fortune. No shame though, most people will never even come close to making 1/10th or even 1/100th of what that man made in his life. Foreman from the 70s also went broke. Fortunately George didn’t run his tank dry before he retired the first time. When fat George rose up from the ashes 10 years later there was still a lot in the tank. Most retired athletes don’t have that option.
