I'd like to see it but will be surprised if it happens. It's about time one of these "lions" steps up their level of competition.

Initially when Benevidez called him out last year he looked like he didn't want to hear none of it. He honestly looked like he wanted to punch the interviewer in the mouth just for mentioning it.

I think I sort of understand. To him it probably looked like Benevidez was basically being brought up to protect Canelo from him and to sabotage him, and maybe he was.

However, I also think that he shouldn't focus on the why's and who is doing what and focus on building his own legacy.

If he were to move up and beat Benevidez convincingly, he'd be an instant legend. If he knocked him out or stopped him, wow, that would take him up to instant ppv status.

If he feels that the Mexicans and the Whites are collaborating against him and his kind, then all he has to do is destroy their plans by winning and becoming thee super star.

Provided that is what is happening of course.

Anyway, he called Benevidez out recently, so let's see what happens.

I hope he at least beats Derevyanchenko first before moving up. That way he can legitimize his title so that he can no longer be called a paper champ, which is an unfair status considering that the former champ blatantly ducked him by vacating the title.

Still, beating someone of Derevyanchenko's quality takes away that argument completely.
I agree! Dervy (x2 if necessary) then 168! I'm not really interested in Chris Eubank Jr., unless Eubank Jr. was to beat someone @ 160-168. I would like to see Eubank Jr. fight Murata, Lionell Thompson, or Sulecki.

They All Want to Fight the Best

Everybody now says they want to fight the best but almost none of them do it. Same old tired story in boxing for the last few years. You have up and coming stars who all they do is fight C and D level competition and they have the nerve to say they’re the best. I mean look at Devin Haney, I love watching him box but for God’s sake he pretty much got a Championship e-mailed to him, didn’t fight anybody for it. I just want to see the top 10 actually fighting the top 10. I want to see these champions go at it. We need this generation’s version of the Fabulous 4. Charlo vs Derevyanchenko would be a great matchup. I hope it happens but I won’t hold my breath.

Blame the promoters and the Governing bodies the fighters don't make those decisions. The powers to be want to milk fights and contracts for money Blame them

I'm not a casual Homie I read this sport constantly and I know for a fact Eddie Hearn sent a contract to Charlo for a unification fight. Do some research casual
