The franchise title is lame and shouldn't exist, but, there is a difference in the scenerios that Hearn is mentioning. I believe if you are a champion in a division and you're going to unify with another champion in that same division, that should take precedent. I hate not being able to get 1 champion in a division because these organizations get into each other's way. But if you're given a franchise title deliberately so that you can avoid a mandatory and instead hop around different weight classes and pick and choose who you want to fight while still maintaining a title in a division you haven't fought in for several fights, that's straight BS and favoritism, which is what the wbc is known for.

Anyways, the way these young cats are using social media to promote themselves may put an end to the scam promoter's have had going for so long.

that's why I started hy saying the franchise title is lame and shouldn't exist. My point is that organizations should make unification a priority over their mandatory. So if Loma is going to unify with Lopez or fury is going to unify with Joshua, they should risk having their titles stripped for trying to unify their division. Now if you wanna hop to another weight class and not face your mandatory, that is cause for being stripped.

I have to agree with Hearn here.The less belts in these overcrowded governing bodies the better , silver belts, inter continental belts , diamond belts and although we don't like a lot of the mano's good hard working and deserving fighters like Whyte would be swerved forever.At the moment this doesn't suit Hearn I just hope his feelings will be the same should the shoe be on the other foot.

I guess Hearn's champion, AJ, has been fighting his ordered mando's without complaining. Beside, Hearn has made it clear that he wasn't happy about the manner one of his boxer, Haney, became WBC champion.

While I would love to see divisions unified, I do believe that the right thing to do, is to force champions to also entertain their mandotary obligations. It's a matter of adjusting their schedule.

They themselves are beneficiary of the mandotary system, so they must offer others the same opportunity to become a champion. If you are confident that you are the best you take the challenge without hasitation. Just a decade or 2 ago champions used to fight at least 4 times per year, including mandotaries and unification bouts.
