Haye had power and speed but lacked stamina chin and heart. Also relied on reflexes more than fundamentals.
David Haye could have been the most dominant boxer ever lived

Haye was lucky to win that HW title he did. He was also in 3 of the worst fights I've ever watched vs Klit, Harrison and Valuev. I think he'd have lost to Usyk at cruiser and a couple others.Comment

This is a laughable thread but I'll just say this: his size wouldn't have been an issue at Heavyweight if he was anywhere near as skilled as some of you seem to believe.Comment

It would have been brilliant to have a prime David Haye around now with everything else inc Usyk around. Just bad timing. He'd have made a fortune now. Then again even the rise of british boxing, is down in large part to him glassing Chisora. I'm not over exaggerating either, when he glassed Chisora it was trending big...and everyone i know was laughing at it.

This guy probably believes that he would have KO’d Klitschko if it weren’t for the broken toe.

Indeed. His argument rests on his having held 3 of the titles at one point and his formidible KO rate, but his route to the titles wasn't the toughest. Dudes like Lebedev, YPH, Huck maybe even Mormeck himself were at least as accomplished in terms of resume, and that's just amongst the dudes who could loosely be described as his contemporaries.
As to whether Cruiserweigght is that shayt, it's my opinion that over the last decade or two it's gradually come into it's own as a division in it's own right. IMO it now stacks up fairly well against other divisions in terms of talent although there's still a degree to which it's a stepping stone division and likely always will be. Obviously the huge gap between LHW and the Bohemoths at HW kinda necessitates an intermediaiary division, but the bright lights and fat purses at HW will always lure the top talent eventually.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 06-29-2020, 05:34 AM.Comment
