I do respect other people's opinions, though, as long as they're expressed in a civil manner as you did.
Things that bother me about how fans go about being fans -

They take criticisms personally and attack the critic.

    WTF

And they want to say said boxer will kill the critic as if that is some kind of trophy win.

Opinions are just that and should be treated accordingly. However, some opinions have credibility. We can never know for certain who is the ATG. Popular OPINION suggests it's either SRR or Ali.

If 95 out of 100 experts hold the same opinion on a matter, one can take that conclusion to be credible.

However, if 95 out of 100 ''experts'' say Jimmy Thunder belongs in the HOF, well.........

Lighten up Mike fans. History and popular opinion is on your side....regardless of his resume.

You talk about blind fans, majorettes, puppets.

But I'm not that kind of person. I'm old enough at 56 to retain a balanced judgment. Have seen enough boxing in my life to understand at least a fraction of reality, regardless of bullshìt like ATG lists, HOF inductees, multiple beltholders etc.

To me, all of the above means nothing. I'm interested in studying a given fighter, that's what I do. Tyson was a particularly interesting study throughout these years.

I don't even buy the "expert" theory. No one is an "expert", there is always something new to learn, new perspectives to analyze. I take something from everybody who speaks with a balanced mind.

This article is not a balanced article. It's VOLUNTARILY biased to stir a vacuous debate. The journalist is not doing his work properly. I would say the exact same things had Fitzsimmons written an equally unbalanced article against another fighter.

There's a difference between a hating casual and a presumed serious reporter. This article reads like one written by the former. That's all.

And, in spite of what I wrote in my first post, I'm sure that Tyson would buy Fitzsimmons a beer after hearing his words.

An ''expert'' is whoever shares your POV
An ''expert'' who has a different POV is really just a punk ass, disgruntled hater.

It seems incredible, but aging changes a LOT of things. Especially when one sets such things inside a bigger perspective.

I come here to talk and read about boxing, and find a high percentage of trolling, hatred, disrespect.

It gives you an idea about the reason this world is ending in the way we're seeing.

Yes, of course. That's how it usually works. Sad stuff.

The world ending and trolls....you give them too much power.

It's a shame we all can't put certain groups on the ignore list and make them disappear like we can trolls.

When a fighter's legacy is looked at in non flattering ways, a fan most likely won't be logical.

Take Khans fans for instance (there shouldn't be any left). They say in the face of all things logical, that he is a threat to anyone. To say anything different, you are called a hater or worse.

''Some'' fans are incapable of being honest while at the same time every fan will say that they are honest

Nah, it was just a manner of speaking. As you say, one just ignores them.

                      Especially painful

In regard to enlightenment, I reached it when Tyson knocked out Spinks in 1988

                      Just kidding.
