I still don't get how compubox missed several body shots. I counted 11, while there could've been around 15 but the camera angle wasn't that great so I didn't tally them. But I mean it would kind of make sense that Golovkin was landing more than just jabs because if he wasn't, that would be pretty embarrassing if Canelo couldn't dodge that many punches and simply avoid the jab.

I saw hard punches from Golovkin but his detractors discount them. Guys who have been in the ring with him and sparring partners comment on how hard he punches without looking flashy and that includes his jab.

        Went from overrated to underrated

He’s a very good fighter like Miguel Cotto. Having big wins would push him to great

Yeah he's naturally heavy handed, especially with those forearms, so he doesn't need to throw hard to make it felt. Too bad he lost the snap/speed he had when he was younger. His punches used to be so much more devastating.

So. If the majority of people think a fighter is overated, then who exactly is doing the overating? Conversely if more said that he was 'underated' wouldn't that too prove the antithesis? Surely if anything this vote shows that most people aren't overating Golovkin... in a weird way doesn't the poll result actually disprove itself?

All these overated / underrated threads are kinda strange anyway, like, you're not asking how people rate the fighter in question but how people compare their own estimation to what they believe to be the perception of other people.

I am the only one that finds that a little odd, conceptually.
I find it odd that you would get confused over a simple question lol

Everyone who fought him say good things. He took nel o to the brink both fights. Ability wise he's right up there.
it's his resume people question his ability isn't in doubt

With his jab, stamina, workrate and punch resistance, he would be a very tough fight vs anyone all-time at (or around) 160. Great fighter with no major holes in his game.

Nelo has more fights vs better opposition
GGG has less fights vs worse competition

At what point did GGG suddenly get ''old'' ?!?!?!

Who wore him out prior to his fights with Nelo ?

GGG was too content with the weak level of opponent he was fed.

                      Now he's old.....
