      We shall see.

If he retires now, he's a 1st ballot HOFer and many spots ahead of GGG.

I'm the worst but you won't answer a direct question.

If you look at his fights with Top MWs in Canelo, Jacobs, and Dervenchenko they're all razor close fights. That's a good and bad thing. It means GGG belongs in the same company as those guys which is elite MW but it also means...hes just like those guys.

Dervenchenko and Jacobs are not ATG and I'm not sure Canelo will ever be either. GGGs inability to separate himself from that group will also be the reason he may never achieve ATG status

going into the first fight i believe canelo was giving golovkin credit and the benefit of the doubt that he was as strong and good as advertised...and in the 2nd fight he was not afraid of anything golovkin could do to him...i think he bought into the myth and then realized it just wasnt that true

i do believe golovkin is good....but he got by beating up guys like curtis stevens...who lost to legit d level club fighters....

the golovkin super fans swear that jab, which as you mentioned was really all he did well, is some measure of immense success.....in boxing youre gonna have to give/give up something to get something....what punch do you think canelo would want golovkin to be throwing? and alot of? my guess is he would want golovkin throwing jabs
The last thing Canelo wants is Golovkin throwing jabs. He has a big problem defending against it and it disrupts his offense. He'd rather engage in exchanges that favor his better hand speed.

case in point....golovkin got tagged up and beaten "mexican style" and the gggroupies are still touting that "jab doe".....because its all golovkin did well....it didnt disrupt canelo from tagging up golovkins face

So... lemme... just figure this out.

So. If the majority of people think a fighter is overated, then who exactly is doing the overating? Conversely if more said that he was 'underated' wouldn't that too prove the antithesis? Surely if anything this vote shows that most people aren't overating Golovkin... in a weird way doesn't the poll result actually disprove itself?

All these overated / underrated threads are kinda strange anyway, like, you're not asking how people rate the fighter in question but how people compare their own estimation to what they believe to be the perception of other people.

I am the only one that finds that a little odd, conceptually.
