Evander doesn't get credit because of Tyson fanboys, who have small underdeveloped brains. They try to turn Tyson's legacy into some comic book BS where he has a mythical 'form' and that's their safe spot to go in any debate.

"Oh that doesn't count, it wuzn't prime Tython!" is the dumbest most over-used phrase in boxing.

"Prime Tyson" was just as easy to tie up. He was always a complete weakling and lazy arse in the clinch, that's how he had some dull fights even before prison. That version of Holyfield who beat him up so thoroughly would do the same to him at any point in his career.

Well, on that one night in Tokyo, I rate Buster as high as any Hw In my book ... but he just didn’t have the discipline to sustain it. Everything came together on that one night for him and he fought the fight of the century

Complete nonsense. Douglas had plenty of weaknesses and fought such a super mega great fight that he was one second from being counted out after a bad KD and got saved by the bell.

That same version of Douglas ran out of gas against Tucker and quit standing.

He beat prime Tyson's ass thoroughly but is nowhere near the best heavyweights we've seen. He had a good gameplan he stuck to and even got lucky to win that one.

You don’t think that version of Buster coulda beat AJ, Wilder and Fury? Honestly asking.

Fury? Not even close. Wilder needs one good hit and Douglas is wrecked mentally and quits soon. AJ probably does the same.

You think that version of Buster would beat the coveted greats like Ali, Foreman, Lewis etc.? Honestly asking.

Most people don't consider that version of Tyson to be the good today. Back then however Tyson opened as a 25-1 favorite, for a reason. Nobody gave Hoyfield much of a shot. Tyson looked very good in all of his fights after prison. He was fast explosive and knocked people out just like the Tyson everybody fell in love with before prison. Even though Tyson got whooped he was still the favorite in the rematch.

Today people act like Tyson 1996/1997 was awful and won't give Holyfield any credit.

Holyfield beat one of the best Tyson’s we saw but not quite the early 90”s one either . Holyfield proved to be formidable facing another counter puncher ,but Mikes counter punching took a dive at that point and he settled into two punch combos at a time with not nearly the footwork he had earlier in his career .

I think Holyfield was on some type of enhancements ,I remember he refused to take some tests that Tyson requested also . I think the fight shows how tough Tyson was more then Holyfield if I’m being honest .

Many felt Holyfield would be seriously injured or killed.

Holyfield beat Tyson clearly in the first fight, and won because of the ear incident the second fight.

Why doesn’t Holyfield get his due recognition for defeating a young legend? He proved it wasn’t a fluke the way he was fighting the second fight.

                    This.

Nobody sees the post-prison Tyson as great at this point.

So if Tyson didn't catch the case, the fight may have happened earlier. I'm gonna say two controversial things here: 1) noone really knows what happened between the girl and Tyson except the girl and Tyson. Cause Don king apparently did not pay for quality lawyers for Tyson. Tyson has admitted he's done alot of bad things but **** wasn't one of them 2) I don't want to get caught up in the hype, but I've been hearing that Mike's white previous handlers were odd and eccentric, I'll leave it at that because I don't have my facts straight, nor do I want to Sully someone's rep.

The night holyfield knew he would beat Tyson was when they were amateurs, everyone was scared of Mike except for holy. He knew he had the mental edge going into the pros.

As well holyfield studied Mike. He watched Mike rip up the heavybag with destructive inside punishment. Holy said he went to the bag and tried to copy Tyson but his arms were too long, he was too tall to fire off those inside punches.

Holy had god on his side. Every time mike hit him he prayed. I know it sounds corny but he bullied the bully. Just the fact that Mike won a title after prison speaks volumes about his strength. I think this was just the case where the better man won that night. And hey they had unfinished business in the second fight, so let's please welcome a third fight!
