  • Comments Thread For: Collard: I Just Want To Fight Real Dudes, Otherwise What's The Point

Cassius' Clay Collard just wants to keep fighting, whether in a square ring or caged octagon. The dual-sport athlete and current middleweight spoiler is thriving in his latest occupation, having rapidly earned a reputation as a prospect slayer. For the third times in as many fights in 2020, Collard managed to bump off a previously unbeaten boxer-the latest coming in his six-round decision win over Israeli southpaw David Kaminsky (now 6-1, 3KOs) in a June 18 ESPN-televised preliminary bout from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Can you imagine if every top fighter insisted on fighting the best available opponents what boxing would be? It would be a golden era all over again. He fights unbeaten fighters - and champs in lighter weights classes fight guys with 13 and 14 losses!! Something wrong with that picture!!

I like his roll... I don't really like guys crossing over, but if Collard has switched full-time then good for him... wish him all the best

Dude goes life n death with those bums stepping up another level only means the poor dude would get destroyed but I do hope he gets paid in his next outing he deserves it.

either way, he's earned it and he's a hell of a lot better than his record suggests. 7-2-3 is a meh record, but his opponents total 65-2 which is crazy. He's also fought as low as 147 and as high as 175 (his only KOL) so yeah, I'd love to see what he can do with a full camp and a real opponent at his actual weight (which I assume would be 154?)

Plus his last two fights I've watched he didn't go life and death at all. He KO2'd the one guy, and dominated the Israeli last week)

I'm fairly sure they said he had an amateur boxing background, and he crossed over to MMA. If so, he's just coming back.
