Why do canelo haters act like Floyd was more popular at the same age

Canelo has been pulling big numbers(when on ppv) since his mid 20’s and now at 29 is the face of boxing and brings in waaay more viewers than Floyd did at 29 and has made more $$$ at similar age in they’re careers.

Ppl forget Floyd couldn’t attract flies to ****tt until Oscar faced him which was Floyds early 30’s.

At the end of the day, does it really matter?

This is true, however I don’t see canelo surpassing floyd once he hits his own peak in regards to money... floyd was a genius and used his haters to fund his millions.. canelo doesn’t have as much haters as floyd did..

        I can see it.

Floyd wasn’t even making a fraction at 29 what canelo is making but we’ll see.

Given the times canelo can surpass him earning wise.

If he keeps on winning, Canelo could eventually surpass him, no doubt

but the problem is, Canelo cant afford to become a cherrypicker in the last 10 years of his career like Floyd did. Post Hatton Floyd is the definition of cherrypicking 101

Floyd's "0" and the Pacquiao fight that he avoided, was what kept the fans interest on post-Hatton Floyd, it wasn't his boring fights or matches against complete no hopers like Guerrero or bloated midget Marquez

but Canelo doesn't have a "0" or a similar rivalry to justify the big paydays, so ginger will need to keep fighting tough opponents if he wants the big paydays, unlike Floyd who got away with beating bums and past prime fighters. Ginger's body probably won't last that long.

Well hell Floyd had him on his undercards for years and helped build Canelos brand

Last time Floyd tried to unify was depriving another Champ on the scale. And how was Maidana even eligible for Floyd’s 154 WBC on a rematch?

Haymon and Sulaiman easily suckered fans with Maidana fights or the Guerrero “mando” when Floyd was already holding one 154 strap. Floyd ducked two Haymon fighters in Trout in Lara so Canelo had to show Haymon how it’s done. Mexicans Bidness up in this hoe!

True, but he won't reach Floyd's peak. The well known B-sides are practically all dried up, and he doesn't spend time self-promoting himself in America, which doesn't help when you don't try to speak English the few times casuals do see you.

I think he would cuz going off the popularity rate in similar stages of they’re career Canelo has a huge head start.
