I understand why he resigned with TR. He did what was financially best for him and his family, I presume. Can't knock him for that. If anything, he's more familiar with Top Rank and I personally wouldn't break my neck to sign with another company to "give the fans what they want".
I'm only saying this because of what Derrick James has been echoing for months now. Money. Suddenly, Spence is worth so much more now and James is making it seem as though both networks aren't gonna recoup money if the fight happens...essentially saying that Crawford isn't a draw.
Draw or not, at this point, Crawford was champ at 135, undisputed at 140 and a current titleholder at 147...those credentials along with what Spence has accomplished is enough for all parties to make a fight that everybody's been wanting to see.
James is making it seem as though Bud's done NOTHING in the sport, when in fact people have been mentioned him in welterweight matchups before he even moved up. Again, this is a fight we all want to see but I don't believe it's solely up to Terence to make such a big business move in signing with PBC or something crazy like that, just to make it happen.
Frankly, I'm tired of Spence and a lot of these other PBC guys acting as though signing to Haymon is the best move in life and others have to "come to them". It's crazy. It's immature and senseless. Most PBC fighters are comfortable fighting nobodies as most accuse Terence of doing. Irony?
