Comments Thread For: Crawford: I'm By Far The Best at 147, Fight With Spence Will Be a Chess Match

WBO welterweight champion Terence "Bud" Crawford is hoping to eventually get in the ring with WBC, IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence. The two boxers are regarded as the best fighters of the welterweight division. A unification between the two is nowhere near the possibility of taking place.

Imagine Hearns and Hagler just only being a chess match lmao

That would've killed boxing on the spot.

    Snowflake generation. Weak a.ss.

Really terrible to hear this kind of statements from supposedly warriors.

If you're far better, how could it be a chess match? That would imply a close, tactile affair?

Earl Spencer's problem is that he crushed half his skull and is pretty much damaged goods. He still carries the same reputation, but think we are going to see a vastly different/limited fighter when he eventually returns.

Going by the "Eye-Test," Crawford is the best fighter, P4P, in the entire sport! Going by his resume, He's the #3 WW behind Pacquiao and Errol Spence Jr.! Bud could change all that by fighting Pacquiao, Porter, Thurman, or Ugas! However, if you're going to fight Kell Brook @ 147 next, then he's still the weakest champion @ 147!

Yes, Crawford may "potentially" be the best current fighter in the sport along with Canelo and Inoue. However, at 147, there's not much on his resume that raises him above Pacquiao, Spence, Thurman, Porter, or Garcia without first beating at least one of them.
His reported statements about not being prepared to negotiate on his fight purse in the aftermath of this covid pandemic suggest none if those fights will be happening anytime soon!

By far the best? Rofl 🤣 you have only 3 fights at welterweight and they were against jeff horn ,jose benavidez and green machine lol to call yourself the best at 147 you need to beat Shawn porter , keith thurman, Danny garcia , Errol spence and Manny Pacquiao.

The best by far... A fantasy.

Has fought none of the big dogs in the division.
Got rocked by Kavaliauskus early in his last fight.

                  The best by far.

Should fight Porter next if there is any conviction behind those words and then get real about making the Spence fight happen.

Otherwise he is just treading water and heading towards retirement age without having done anything significant as a WW.

For the most part I agree here. Canelo is #1 P4P though if we’re talking resume, or resume + eye test.

Much respect to Pacquiao, but his most recent wins of the last 4 years or so are not up to par with Canelo. I still think Pac is great ! But right now P4P is Alvarez
