Title is self-explanatory.
If Pacquiao retired today, where would you rank him all time?

How many on this board know all about all the great fighters of the past 130 years or have seen film of them fight. About nobody I think. If you don't know all about a past great fighter let alone having actually seen him fight on film then how can you rank Pac above or below him? You don't know and are just guessing. I have no doubt Pac is a great fighter but where he ranks among the hundreds of other great fighters he fought before him I don't know and doubt anyone in this thread knows either. If I saw some good film on a past fighter I could make a guess how the fighter compares with Pac but there are hundreds of great past fighters I have never seen fight. There were some great boxers before there was a way to film them back in the 1800s.Comment

Great post. I voted top 10 and was surprised the poll was split even. Then came across your post and realized I made a hasty decision I should've given more thought. I know, people each have their individual template they use to determine "who's better than who" though. I do too. Pac wasn't the greatest of his era. Can't be TBE. Wasn't the best in the 90s, early 00s, late 00s, or 2010s... I think if saw enough quality tape I could reasonably put him top 20. Throughout Boxing most guys usually only fought about 3 notable, equally notorious names. It was everything else they did that also earned them ATG recognition. On that note Manny has fought above just 3 equally notorious names In his career. Taking in consideration catchweight and strategic timing he used to determine making those fights I sure I could still see him in top 20.How many on this board know all about all the great fighters of the past 130 years or have seen film of them fight. If he was black most would already have him at #1 GOAT.
But because he’s a Filipino they’ll put him around top 5.Comment

I really think he's top 5. At his age he's still padding his resume out with major names. Thurman, broner, lucas, all young lions. broker and Lucas not the best fighters, but it was only up to recently we concluded that. Before bro ner and Lucas lost to maidana and Garcia respectively their careers could have gone either way. People thought they were the next big thing, not quite as good as people may have put them at though. But it weren't so long ago. So much depth.
Compare his resu me to very good fighters he beat like jmm, bradley, morales.
You get impression pac s resume is 3 times as good as his peers.
