Manny’s career after 130 is littered with asterisks. If it’s not catchweights (Cotto, Margarito, Oscar), it’s fighting guys coming off losses (Clottey, Mosley, Margarito, Hatton, Mathysse, Broner and Rios who was moving up in weight and a bum), and fighting unknown guys while promoting them as threats (Algieri and Horn).

Do not google this question - who did Manny beat for a dubious title at 135???
Every single Filipino that I’ve asked this question had NEVER correctly answered this question and I know for a fact you will google it and then come brag that you knew. No you did not.
Name a fighter that could have fought at 140 for a whole decade but chose to fight at 147 instead and always had the disadvantage in height and reach? No one takes on more risks than Midget Manny! Facts!

Roy Jones could have stayed at 154 but went to 168 and fought the undefeated and top guy.
He could have stayed there but went to 175 and cleaned the division. He then went up to HW and won a title. He was 36 when he got clipped by Tarver.

But that aside, let’s go to your Pinot idol at 147.

He fought Brandon Rios, Broner, Mathysse, Vargas, Horn, Algieri, Clottey and Mosley (last two had literally lost their last fights).
These are the guys you are measuring the “greatness” of PAcman? Really?

And I don't see anything that special in Shakur Stevenson. Not yet, anyway. He has a lot more work to do.
played it safe? Gave Russell, Rigo, and Walters all there 1st and only L’s...scheduled to fight Lopez next.Top young names like Tank “are not ready “ per Mayweather....wat fighter have they avoided in “playing it safe”?

Ur bias against PAC being obvious - at least give accurate info....Mathysse and Margo were coming off wins prior to fighting PAC, Broner and Mosley were coming off Draws.

since leaving 130, Manny only fought the best... ONCE !

a welter he never fought a genuine top 3 opponent until Bradley

you say Pac is a hero for CHOOSING to fight at 147... but many of those opponents were mid-level top rank jww's, and Pac fought them at 144

historians will not paper over that stuff, and nor should they

            [the ONLY criteria for greatness]
WHO did you beat, with consideration given to when/how

Has he had a run like Pacquiao did, as the poster I was responding to mentioned?

Mathysse: Got beat by Victor Postol the fought Emmanuel Taylor and then Tewa Kiram for a vacant WBA WW title. Please tell me who the fück Kiram is in the boxing world?

Margarito: Was KO’d by Mosley then beat Roberto Garcia for a vacant title. Can you please respond and tell us who this guy is?

Mosley: Coming off a loss to Mayweather. He then fought Sergio Moraa to a draw. Moraa!!! Are you kidding me?

Broner: Had lost to Mikey Garcia and then got draw with Vargas who had just to PAC.

There were at least 8 WW contenders plus belt holders that PAC could have fought instead of these guys.

Now, humor me if you will with this question; what would your reaction be if Floyd had chosen to fight Broner or Mathysse or Vargas or Brandon Rios or even Margarito after he had been KO’d by Mosley or Algieri or Horn?
Just a honest answer, is all.

By fighting 140 fighters at 147 and by fighting 147 fighters at CWs or wait till they shot.

And if you want to go through his career you will find he was the heavier guy in many fights.

I don’t get how PAC fans can create so many realities for Floyd only but are unable to even acknowledge any facts they’re given.
Their knowledge of boxing revolves around PAC and Floyd.
