Comments Thread For: Fury Hints He'd Drop WBC Title, Not Interested in Fighting Whyte

Been calling for unification since first Fury/wilder fight.
If it doesn't happen after this next bout then it'll never happen. I'd definitely lose interest in the division. There'd be no all English battle on British soil so There's not a fight I particularly want to see happen.
I just want a unification regardless of who holds the belts..Comment

AJ won't fight who? If it's Whyte then he's already ****** him out and Whyte turned down AJ for a second fight when Ruiz stepped in.
AJ will fight Fury.
Whyte is nothing but a mouthpiece in the division. He offers nothing AJ and Fury want out of boxing at this present time. They hold the belts, they hold the fans, they hold the power..
what does Whyte possibly have to offer them to change the minds of fighting each other? He's got nothing. He knows it ain't happening, he knows Hearn won't allow it.. he's just spouting hoping that someone does give a belt up and he takes it without fighting anyone.. he's full of the proverbial..........
Tyson won't drop the belt imo. He'll threaten, but the WBC won't let potentially the biggest fight in decades in HW division pass by without there name on it..Comment

Why do they have to through anything towards Whyte? Unification over mandatory is the rule. And Whyte cannot do anything about it...legally or illegally.
Because Schwartz and Wallin posed little danger and also demanded little pay. Also, by fighting those "tomato cans" and with the help of his trash talk and invisible belt, you got to admit that he brought himself up to a position where nobody tells him what to do. That is smart play to bring himself to this position.
Can Whyte do that?Comment

Nobody is scared of bum Dillian Whyte, this is the same man who lost to Del Boy, should've lost to Parker and barely got by Wach in his last fight.
Fury would get no credit for beating Whyte because people would just say he's beaten AJs leftovers.
Fury vs Joshua is the fight to make in boxing, the gym sweeper will just have to wait for his turn.Comment

Whyte made all the wrong moves at the wrong time. He favored immediate paydays over positioning himself or improving his financial profile (outside the UK).
For all his talk, Whyte's been a mandatory in waiting for just 3 months. He got his mandatory position (back) in December 2019 and boxing has been suspended after 2-3 months. All his No. 1 rank means nothing since he did not fight eliminators. He can speak a lot but has little legal substance to back it up.
He must be remembering Wilder as a champion now. He had a better chance of forcing Wilder than he has of forcing Fury. Also, to be honest, Wilder did indeed give him pretty sound advice Whyte to fight Ortiz and he would give him a voluntary. Whyte fight 2 fights in the US would have raised his profile to make Wilder-Whyte a financially lucrative match. Even if that had not materialized, Whyte would be demanded by US fans as a challenge to Fury. I keep saying, Whyte is a UK-level fighter (in terms of his visibility and popularity). Your boxing profile comes second to your perception/public profile in terms of how people see you. Today, nobody at a high level wants to fight Whyte and that too in the UK...Neither of Joshua, Wilder, or Fury. Wilder may fight Miller or Ruiz and generate more money instead of Whyte.
Whyte should know he ain't fight for the title shot till 2022. He still has the chance to go to the US and fight Ortiz or Ruiz or Miller or take an easier fight in Kownacki. He'll have to get a lower payday initially for 2-3 fights but if can KO them in style, he will be in demand. Otherwise, good luck and he may lose before 2022 anyway.Comment
