Why don’t we do this instead of Hooker-Prograis and Loma-Lopez

It seems like a few interesting fights are on the verge of exploding. Why not reshuffle things a bit and create other interesting fights?

Teofimo Lopez should move up and fight Regris Prograis at 140. Lopez won’t be able to make 135 by the time the Lomachenko fight should happen and Prograis shouldn’t fight Hooker at 147. There’s obviously an ESPN/DAZN issue here but they did figure it out for Ramierez-Hooker, so why not this fight? If this happens, Kambosos-Selby should be for the IBF title if Lopez moves up so Lomachenko should just wait for the winner of that fight.

Maurice Hooker should move up and fight Mikey Garcia. It seems Pacquiao-Garcia isn’t going to happen (I’m speculating Pacquiao has one more fight with PBC when his representatives were under the impression it was done.) So Garcia-Hooker (especially if done in Dallas) seems like a nice interim fight until Pacquiao is ready for Garcia. Hooker is also clearly ready for a move to 147.

    What do you guys think?

Loma Vs Lopez is one of the must see fights of the year, winner is #1 of a stacked 135. Giving that up for Lopez to face Prograis and decide the #3 in a not as stacked 140 isn't as appealing

No matchmaker would put Lopez in with Prograis as his first fight at 140.

Not any. Maybe if you were and then they would fire your ass.

Maybe if the matchmaker worked for DiBella

I’m surprised at how many people are saying Lopez wouldn’t fight Prograis right away. That fight is much less dangerous than a fight against Lomachenko.

I think you could even argue the Commey fight was more dangerous than a Prograis fight.

I wouldn't mind an eliminator between Lopez and Tank for a shot at Loma, but Tank has no desire to fight anyone with a pulse. So I'm good with Lopez/Loma as planned for September. Lopez has plenty of time to get down to 135 for that fight without any excuses. Only has to lose twenty pounds between now and then.

Loma could outbox Lopez and possibly make him quit. Prograis is a big heavy puncher and if he is able to land consistently could really damage Lopez. Not to mention Prograis got a chin and can most likely take Lopez's best punches just like that big young japanese fighter could.

I’d much rather see Loma-Lopez than any of those other fights.
