The only feasible point he makes really is that lacy was over hyped. Admittedly he was, but with good reason. His record before calzaghe was impressive. But in that one fight, calzaghe showed more class, style and composure than all froch fights put together. Joe more or less ended the career of the next big thing. And im sorry Carl, he would have done the same to you

lacy was never good. lacy was never going to be the next big thing. froch fought better competition so yeah he didnt look as dominant why do people fall for the same thing all the time? weak competition makes everyone look better. when calzaghe fought better comp he struggled, just like froch. he easily could have a couple losses, just like froch. big difference is froch took more risks and fought better fighters.

to be fair, once Froch went past Calzaghe, he should have just stopped talking about him once he climbed above him in the SMW Brit rankings.


It might still burn Carl that Joe gets credit by fringe fans for his unrecognised defences - but he should just have let it go, Froch has matched Joe's official defence record and with much stiffer opposition.

Thats not a knock on Joe, its still a great achievement to be 2nd to Froch now.

Sounds exactly like people were saying Lacy would do to Calzaghe pre fight. Froch would have to land to 'get him', and I wiuld expect a Calzhage/Froch fight to play out the same way Ward/Froch played out.

I am fully aware of the triangular theory.
In this specific argument, Calzaghe retired undefeated and unified the 168 division. Frisch got beat a couple of times and did not unify the division.
So what now? Is his career better than Calzaghe or do we draw conclusions and say he would have beaten Calzaghe? I highly doubt that based on the facts at hand
