There was money in the pot for that fight and remember Joe was making peanuts until he left Frank Warren.

Let it go Carl, it's not good for you.
Froch is so self obsessed he can't let it go! Ward broke him, Kessler beat him and Dirrell was robbed against him but he thinks he was better than Calzaghe. He had a good career himself, which he gets plenty of credit for but, whilst he's entitled to his opinions, he just continues to embarrass himself.

I don't think Carl has ever got over being told he was not even the best in his prime in his own division. He was clearly beaten , hands down by Andre Ward and rightly refused a rematch .Joe and Andre would have been a pick em fight but I would edge Joe to be too busy and out point Ward as he undoubtedly would have Froch. Carl had a tremendous career but sounds unfortunately bitter in retirement.

Sounds exactly like people were saying Lacy would do to Calzaghe pre fight. Froch would have to land to 'get him', and I wiuld expect a Calzhage/Froch fight to play out the same way Ward/Froch played out.

Froch was a monster, but I think he would take a L from Calzaghe... who is under-rated, and VERY difficult to beat... insane stamina/workrate, excellent boxing skills, three distinctly different punching styles... he was also pretty tough and a under-rated puncher, but he slapped a bit with his mid-range combo's

I am a big Ward guy, but he would have given Ward fits... Ward would have found it much more difficult to negate Calzaghe like he negated just about everyone else

Froch had a great career, big over-achiever

Thing is Carl was decent, why he continues to arbour this thing for Joe I don't know other than envy.. or Did Joe do something to him that we don't know of? Did he **** his missus and she told him Joe had a bigger wanger? Something is eating away at him that he just can't let go. We know he's self obsessed and id give him a little credit for the obsession had he got a zero record but he hasn't...

Carl needs to accept what was what, he had a good career, he was good, great chin which saved him a few times, good all rounder.. but ultimately Joe was better.. no shame in that.

Head to head, you'd have to pick Calzaghe all day every day

Top 10 British fighters of all time: Calzaghe's a cert, and Froch... is not

If we're talking level of opposition, Froch faced the better opposition and its not even debatable.

Froch isn't wrong tbh. Calzaghe had 4 real fights in his career - Lacy, Kessler, RJJ and Hopkins. Even RJJ is quite flimsy tbh.

but he had a lot of really weak opponents.

adalaide byrd was the only one who had hopkins winning from the judges that should show you how bad your judging is
