Young sport professionally compared to boxing. No ABC sanctioning bodies or network wars. UFC put on solid shows. Tough sport! So many different ways to win or lose a fight. Respect!

Boxers get paid way better even though UFC is more popular.

But UFC has a pretty big monopoly. Sure there are some other smaller companies but UFC has a habit of buying them up and Im surprised a few have even sprung up lately without White buying them.

Really though the guys at the top of both sports aint poor. I would like to see the guys at the bottom paid better and see how that compares to boxers. The guys at the top cant get there without sparring partners and a lot of these guys arent getting chit.

I also dont know if its done already but would really like to see Dana get these guys some finance classes. Even if they they get more money they blow it all.

        $10 million.

Where are you getting your information? Seems made up.
Its in the comment you replied too. Jones ready said how much he makes during fight with dana, Cormier also admited Jones made 10 mil for his fight with him. I think Jones and Comier are better sources than a non credible website called wealthygorilla.net. Also again wasnt my point but even with your website you proved me right again since Jones fights 1-2x a year so if 10 mil is his networth than he is getting flat fee of 5 mil a fight like Jones has said.

Jones is worth way much more then that, he also lives in NM which is has a lower cost of living then most states. Jones makes some points thou but at the same time UFC controls MMA in the Western Hemisphere (in Asia that is OneFC's area).

Most likely since he gets ppv points with the 5 mil and thats without his assets or any sponsorship deals but still he should be getting 15-20 mil a fight so he is getting robbed but he isnt making pennies theirs maybe less than 20 boxers who make more than him.

I'd like to address misconceptions and pros/cons about MMA/White.

              MISCONCEPTIONS
The ufc is a sport (it is not)
UFC is more popular than Boxing (that doesn't even make sense)

              TRUTH
The ufc is a sports BRAND. It is a single company within the sport of MMA. Identical to the NBA/NFL as fellow sporting companies with a monopoly on their respective American markets.
UFC is NOT more popular than Boxing. This is regarding America. That doesn't even make sense. Boxing in America is still more popular than the UFC. The UFC is simply the most known combat sports league which is thanks to it's monopoly of mma. No Boxing brand has a monopoly on Boxing. What ONE Boxing brand does have, however, is better viewership numbers than the ufc on a year to year basis: PBC. PBC has held better numbers than the UFC for a few years. Except The PBC is a very new company in comparison to the UFC. The next two combat sporting companies beneath the UFC are Top Rank at third and Golden Boy at 4th. Much more Boxing is consumed in America than MMA at this point in time. And the Brand with the highest numbers of viewership belongs to the PBC: a boxing brand.

As for Dana White's monopoly of mma: Pros
He was able to grow the company to the extent it is the largest mma brand on earth
He was able to grow a stable of hundreds of fighters for nigh endless mma entertainment for viewers
He was able to properly fund and develop a female's division
He is essentially responsible for MMA being a sport in the United States of Americans hard work grew MMA to this size here
He created a business where the American MMA wishful does not have to worry about earning a check professionally

              CONS
His monopoly led to his stronghold over the sport
His fighters are forced into take it or leave it situations
He has ALL the leverage at negotiation tables (where else are they gonna go?)
He has to divvy up all the money "equally" resulting in this whole lower pay argument
His business when paying fighters is more socialistic than capitalistic
He's got hundreds of fighters willing to replace the complainers (remember his stable)
His pay is "just good enough" to entice fighters to sign but "not enough" to keep the stars happy forever (perfect sweet-spot)

I always tell people watch the way Arum talks about working with his fighters, than do the same for Dana. Bob always sounds like he's pleading his case and walking on thin ice, almost apologetic....Then watch Dana White: strict, stern, my way or the highway because I'm the Boss demeanor and way of talking when referring to his fighters. Those two different personalities exist for a reason. At the slightest disrespect, Bob's fighters will leave him and he'll lose money because Boxing fans follow the fighter: there is no single company with a monopoly over boxing. That has always been a good thing. Dana's fighters always cry and lash out, then come right back home to papa like whipped pups. They ain't going nowhere because there's nowhere to go. I imagine he strokes their hair at night, tucking them into bed while whispering that to them.

Jones, McGregor, and Masvidal are correct on this one. With the amount of ppv's they would likely sell with right opponent they should be making millions more than what they are getting paid. But due to the structure of the UFC it is never going to happen. Too many hands on the prize money.

Boxing is all about gross profit which is why boxers get paid so much. From the press conferences, to the promotion, and even event setup, everything is done on a strict budget. It looks cheap at times unless it is a really huge event.

I especially feel bad for MMA fighters because their moments of fame and title reigns are very short lived aside from Jon Jones. It is not like boxing where a promoter will drag out a boxer over a decade to make sure everyone gets paid. In the UFC you are pretty much used up with the whole the best always fight the best approach.

Thank you for the information. I never knew that Joe Jones reach that status to choose what he want. I knew he is a big star, but believe he was still controlled by Dana Whyte. I admit that I am a casual in MMA.
