Pac is an ATG and Top 25 fighter ever. GGG is very, very, very far from that. Pac has legitimately succeeded across 5 or 6 weight divisions...GGG haant even outright won 1 division in his entire career.
Well theres a mental component to losing and having tough fights. Mannys win over Cotto at a CW while he was working with a new trainer coming off TWO LOSSES (Clottey decision was very favorable for Cotto) was phenomenal matchmaking. And Cottos 1st loss was brutal as he was cheated from his undefeated career...and Cotto took a beating there
Fighting Mosley after Floyd and after journeyman Mora drew with him was yet again phenomenal matchmaking.
Fighting DLH after losing to Floyd and having his orbital bone broken by Steve Forbes - a guy with like 14 losses and 5 KOs (no power) - at a weight Oscar hadn't made in 7 years...then on fight night Manny weighing MORE than DLH. Phenomenal matchmaking.
Fighting Margs after he gets TKOd and squeaks by a journeyman in a tuneup with a CW and rehydration clause...phenomenal matchmaking.
Roach is a good trainer and an even better matchmaker. Manny did his part though and delivered when he had to, but he definitely took certain fights at very advantageous times. And to pretend that doesnt matter just shows you have no personal experience with the sport. Losing and getting beaten definitely influences you.
That's why Manny took 1 whole year off before he fought Rios...he got slept and needed a long break.
That's why GGG took 9 months off after Canelo 2 and came back to a tuneup.
Taking losses and beatings DO MATTER and its reflected in the sport every day and historically
If Pac were to fight and beat GGG it would definitely not be a GOAT win...you're showing your colors with that post. It would be a good win though but not even the best win in the past decade...
However, if Pac fights and beats Canelo....now you can actually make a case because that would be something. Unlike GGG, Canelo IS in HIS PRIME and has had success from 154-175 winning titles along the way. Fighting and beating Canelo right now at age 41 or 42 would be something special. Very special.
