Yes, it was an accurate statement, and it was ruiz' fault.
Joshua adopted the tactics to win the rematch. Even a fit in-shape Ruiz would have struggled to overcome the height and reach of a Joshua that was determined not to engage.

I don't think he celebrated as much as Buster Douglas.. that mantel has been weighing heavily on him for years,...

I wonder if he has invested properly with the millions he won from the rematch. Looking at his lifestyle I wonder what is the reason he continues to box? He is already rich and has "proven" himself in the eyes of his so called Mexican people.

Never has someone has risen and fallen so fast and hard. Ruiz was on every show after that win and went to over 1m followers.

Rahman lost to a fighter in Lewis that was just better. Douglas lost to Holyfield who was just better. Ruiz is more talented than Joshua; that's why he fell so hard.

Joshua fought scared and ran from obese Andy in the rematch. That was not a good look for AJ.

Winning 12-0 and regaining his titles after his embarrassing loss six months earlier seems like a good look to me.

I would have thought he wanted to avenge his loss with a thunderous and definitive knockout.

                  Not with a whimper.

Meh, I'm sure he just preferred getting his titles back....Which he did.

Knocking out Ruiz is going to prove to be difficult for ANYONE. That dude has a hell of a chin and when Joshua did drop him, he got right back up and put Joshua down. That's not one guy you go in trying to KO...Unless your Wilder.

Ruiz will be dining out on that win for the rest of his life. Winning the belts was the worst thing that could have happened to him because it showed his true colors. He will never be champion again because he doesn't care enough to train and be dedicated. And if he doesn't care, then why do you idiots care about him?
