Joshua adopted the tactics to win the rematch. Even a fit in-shape Ruiz would have struggled to overcome the height and reach of a Joshua that was determined not to engage.
Imagine how good Ruiz would be if he had Joshuas physical dimensions. I bet if Ruiz had a normal body fat % he would probably struggle to be a cruiserweight.

Never a good sign when a fighter doesn't take there shirt off at the weigh in, because they are so ashamed of there obesity.

He had more time to train for the second fight than the first fight. He made life changing money for those two fights, but he was lucky he wasn’t PBC’s top HW when he asked for that fight, because they would have blocked him too from fighting Joshua like they did with Ortiz and Kownacki. He would have ended up with 10 fights to make what he made in just one fight. But he was lucky that he wasn’t PBC’s priority until AFTER he won the fight, would he be a priority now? Hopefully they get behind him and build him, but when you look at how they have treated Breazeale, Ortiz and some of their HW Then don’t be shocked if he sits in the shelf too.

Ruiz is a big kid. One who can’t keep away from the fridge. He won’t look after his money unfortunately. Suddenly it will be all gone. And so will his homies. He’ll have to sell his house. His ****** azz ***ellery. He will never get back into good enough shape to get big enough paydays to support the life he’s been used to. He has 5 kids and a wife - that’ll eat away at your savings. If she leaves him, and statistically it is likely, that’s his money totally wiped out. He’s 30 now probably won’t fight again til 2021 weighing 300 pounds. Unfortunately he will, as everyone says, be the era’s buster Douglas. Scratching a few half decent paydays that don’t last long for a bit, take a few loses against lesser opponents then just be lowered to novelty level fights. No way, I mean no way is he ever gonna change his training and eating regime. He was 300 pounds when he turned pro for crying out loud. A second victory over Joshua would’ve brought him a further $20 million payday in his next fight, $40 million if against Fury. And he couldn’t even be bothered. And I really like Andy - personality wise, he’s gutsy, he beat the odds. But he’s never gonna be in any kind of shape again. It’s a shame. But that’s boxing and life. PS I really hope I’m wrong.
