Exactly!!! I do not care what his fan base say. The ultimate objective is publicity. Free marketing that would otherwise cost him millions of dollars. After all he does have a company that promotes boxers. He makes money off his name brand.

A worldwide pull together through this pandemic and an animal hiding behind a police badge brings the reality of what's really scary and going off in the world..

      Simply No place for it..

      Great gesture from Floyd btw..

"Mayweather will pay for Floyd’s funeral, which is scheduled for June 9 in Floyd’s hometown of Houston. TMZ also reported that the boxing legend will cover expenses for three additional services in Minneapolis, where Floyd lived at the time of his death, Charlotte and an undetermined location."

        That's what Champions do! SALUTE!

For those that don't know, Floyd paid for the funerals of Genaro Hernandez and Diego Corrales too!

          Mayweather quietly shows generous side
          June 15, 2011

It was Arum who, with no fanfare, covered most of the medical costs associated with Hernandez's cancer treatment. That was a classy move and his assistance, I am sure, was much appreciated.

As much as Arum and Mayweather detest each other, it's clear they can agree on one thing -- a mutual admiration and respect for Hernandez. Arum paid the medical bills and Mayweather, also without fanfare, relieved the Hernandez family of another financial burden when he picked up the cost of Hernandez's funeral, simply out of the goodness of his heart.

Regardless if there's a motive or not show some fkin respect that he's actually done it rather than trying to find an excuse into why he's done it...

You will always get the cynics that say it’s for publicity, but even if it was, that publicity still sets an example for people to really help. anybody can Copy and paste slogans on Twitter, not just for this cause, but in general, but how many actually go out of their way to help people?

So even if it does get publicity, I don’t see a problem if it’s setting a good example. Not that everyone has to throw money because most people can’t, but you can still make other gestures in life.

I’m sure he is a great person outside of the ring but haters and jealous people will never give him the credit he deserves. Great gesture from TBE. Hats off to him for doing this.
Many of those celebrities are actually out in the streets protesting. That's hardly "doing nothing." Plus you're naive if you don't think Mayweather bringing attention on himself to make himself look good is a possible angle here, given his history.
