Did you miss the post-fight in-ring interview? The first words out Wilder’s mouth were “I came into the ring with an injury but I’m not making any excuses”.

Did you miss the Yahoo Sports interview? “He didn't hurt me at all, but the simple fact is my uniform was way too heavy for me. I didn't have no legs from the beginning of the fight. In the third round, my legs were just shot all the way through.”

Did you miss The Athletic interview? “Bayless had come in my dressing room, looked me in my eyes and said if I hit Fury in the back of the head – rabbit punch – or hit off of the break, he would disqualify me or deduct two points from me. Out the top 3. I think fury has the best class of character in winning. Joshua has the best class of character after his loss. Wilder is still stuck in denial.

It's easy to portray class when you're winning but the true character shows when you lose.

AJ was weirdly too appreciative after he lost, but he at least made zero excuses besides saying there was something going on and he'll disclose it when he retires and writes his book.

Wilder said the better man won, but went on about many different reasons he lost. His leg, his costume, his ring side... It's possible that he may have had a different tune if his corner didn't stop the fight but at that point he was already in denial as he was getting a beat down. Doesn't make Deontay a bad guy. Every human points to a reason or excuse when they come up short at something they work hard for. Every human. Not saying it isn't true but his was just his was a little out there and displayed to the world.

If fury loses i think he'll be humble about it. The fury before his breakdown may not have been.

I would need to see AJ beat Fury twice (assuming Fury would want a rematch) then beat about 10 more top contenders before I start thinking about him as once-in-a-generation great. I can forgive the Ruiz loss, Sometimes that's how combat sports goes but I need to see greatness from here on out

Fury walked into the lions den without fear, and skinned the lion. AJ tried to fight Miller, Andy, or Heavy D in his US debute, failed and hasn't even tried to come back. Then goes to the cards vs the heaviest heavy weight champion in history.

I really don't see how Tyson is #1 yet. I mean let's look at his 5 last fights. Wilder is the only one on his resume, and Wilder is a very limited fighter

Joshua's honesty and candidness is what makes him a favourite of mine. I'll criticise him harshly when needed, but I'm rollin' with him on this rebuilding process. A real ambassador for the sport.
