Ant, you’re forgetting something you may not actually be able to fathom from
Your vantage point. The fury fights were able to be made because Haymon and Arum can work with each other without the other demanding rights to the other’s fighter. Both have deals with networks who can work together for Ppv. Hearn always wanted options on wilder, demanding he sign with dazn on multi fight contracts, etc etc. Hearn simply didn’t speak to or treat wilder with the respect of a man. He talked down to him, ridiculed him, sent his online trolls to spam all of his social media. Why would wilder ever want to work with someone so entitled like Hearn? Arum and Warren never once demanded ownership of wilder. And in turn haymon never requires fury to sign with PBC or showtime in the first fight when it was just warren.

Seen as you put it like that, can see how it was a 'teething snag' good point.

Fury has a high boxing IQ... Wilder is a bum who lacks several boxing fundamentals and has awful footwork. I believe this defeat will spell the end for Wilder, he is psychologically finished.

Do some leg work and not get tired out by the headwear.

Tyson will outbox Wilder 24/7/365. Wilder already landed thunder on Tyson, in the 12th round no less, and he got up and won the rest of the round. So Wilder won't win by power, and won't win by boxing. What else is there?

I'm not bias, just a fan who wanted to see a match-up for all the marbles.

You look at Wilder's record and he's clearly risk averse. Like I wrote on a previous post, if you truly believed you could beat a prime Mike Tyson would you have a record like his? Nor would I...

As a result of this fact I find it hard to believe he wanted the fight more than AJ who to his credit had 2 unifications in a fraction of the time as a World Champion.

I can see the difficulties in dealing with Hearn but that doesn't explain why Wilder made no attempts to unify before AJ. A potential Klitschko unification with the WBA on the line would have been huge in Vegas. But that's on record as being a step too far for Finkel.

The only thing I would say to Goossen and he should know better. It’s easier for a fundamentally sound fighter to make the adjustment the other way and sit on his punches and become a power fighter. But it’s much, much harder for a fighter that depends on power to make the adjustment to be a fundamentally sound fighter, that takes years to develop from the amateurs, international competition, and throughout the pros.

It would be similar in football to asking a defensive end to play OT. All the intricacies and techniques are more difficult to pick up from each position. That would be what we are asking Wilder to do. What Fury did was similar to a “running” QB in college, switching to play RB in the pros. The fundamentals and vision and seeing the field are already there.

Wilder needs some inside game legs. 280 pounds of Fury will always do more damage than a 40 pound costume.
