To All That Follow Arum And His Bull****

if floyd was still with arum we wouldn't hear half of this bull**** but now that floyd left that crook (because he wanted to fight oscar) floyd's scared and ducking an unproven fighter and all of you haters fell right into arums trap, congradulations you are nothing more than sheep.

I still won't say that Floyd ducked Margarito because the fight can still happen down the road. I will say that I am pissed he chose Cory Spinks. Sure Cory Spinks has a better resume but look a little closer. When has Cory Spinks ever looked impressive in winning or losing? He wasn't impressive against Mayorga (it would have been a majority draw and Mayorga would have retained his titles if not for his thuggery and that isn't even counting all the "slips" that could have been called knockdowns). I guess he looked pretty good against Judah the first time but I don't know if that was Spinks looking good or Judah looking bad. Against Karmazin... I mean how could you look worse and still win? Factor in that he lost to Antonio Diaz (a guy Margarito beat easily), Picirillo, and was close to losing against Rafael Pineda before a headbutt bailed him out and I find it hard to justify this fight. The fight definitely didn't have to be Margarito to me, but its hard to say that this is more justifiable than Margarito.

I'd love someone to set an $8M trap for me. Of course, I'd be Mr "if it makes money, it makes sense" smart and not accept it

I would rather see this fight even if the money was the same as for a Spinks fight. Spinks is no threat and has been uninspired and unimpressive in any performance I've ever seen. Sure you can say Margarito is untested but from what I have seen I've been impressed with his KO power and punch volume.

my point is you didn't hear any of this talk when floyd was with arum as his #1 guy now that arum won't be getting paid off of floyd anymore he needs to build up his next fighter which is fine that's the business but setup him up with some good fights so he's known by more than just die hard fight fans.

He needs GBP to promote him. I bet he'll get a fight with Oscar De La Hoya.

              1. spinks had just turned 20 when he lost to diaz and that was still a bull**** decision

obviously a quick trip to boxrec made you see he lost to picirillo in italy in a terrible decision

I don't think anybody is trying to claim that a Mayweather-Margarito fight is a win-win for Margarito while it only offers Floyd $ (people would claim Margarito wasn't ready or wasn't good if Floyd won easily). Nonetheless Arum was trying to get Margarito exposure and what better way than fighting (arguably) the #1 p4p guy in the sport? Plus from Margarito's perspective I'm sure he thinks if Floyd won't fight now for 8 million when he's unproven why will he fight later when he is proven (more even split of $; more confirmed danger).

that's fine but seeing as how floyd feeds off of fighters that come straight forward margs style is custom fit for floyd. marg is slow and his punches are wide sure he could hurt floyd if one connected flush but on the other hand he would be getting tattoed with shots left and right. seeing how zab caused some trouble with floyd with his speed i don't know why you would say that marg would be a tougher fight than spinks other than the punching power.

Oh it was definitely a bad decision don't get me wrong. But a really great fighter (ie. Floyd Mayweather) wouldn't have let the fight be close enough for a rip off to happen. You still haven't addressed the fact that Spinks is uninspired and unimpressive in almost every one of his performances especially his high profile wins.
