But yeah I always respected him but I think it was his personality that rubbed me the wrong way when he was younger. He's definitely had a great career, especially in the second half of it. Can't help but root for him now.

    Elbiali was highly touted
That was a major upset and was supposed to be his last fight

      Yeah your absolutely right
That’s why they wouldn’t understand that one day , hopefully later than sooner , Beterbiev will fight Pascal
There’s to much money to leave on the table and to much animosity between them
I actually don’t know if he ever did become a cop and honestly don’t give a chit lol
The last time I spoke to him was at the Bradley/Holt fight
I was drunk and spotted him
So I yelled out hey everybody it’s Jean Pascal ( I was with two buddy’s ) as we were walking towards each other , as we got close I just yelled out ahhhh fugh him
That was my last convo with Jean
He wanted to kill me but I didn’t give a Fugh and it was the wrong place to start something so let’s say I got away without getting cracked
Another time , I think it was a Lemieux fight he came close to having some major problems with HA puppet gang the Rockers
Crazy fughin city we live in but I wouldn’t have it any other way
      Be safe
Thanks for inquiring. Hopefully you and your loved ones are doing well also.
Animosity, good to know because I never knew or sensed any animosity between Pascal and Artur.

Speaking of the Quebec boxing scene, as I got older, I kept wondering: was Bute really the goods (as in being able to hold his own in the Super Six back then) or a reasonably talented fighter who stumbled upon great matchmaking and a "gullible" audience (harsh word, I know)? At the time, I was too young to really appreciate how Bute's career was being carefully handled by Interbox. I'm torn on this because the few times Breadman (whose opinion I value) has to answer a question about the 168lbs around this era, he seems to imply that Bute would have been able to hang with the guys of the Super Six. After seeing what happened vs Froch in 2012, I don't know man. What's your opinion?

Bute was a great fighter and yes more than capable of handling the super six
The Froch fiasco had more to do with Bute being overwhelmed imo
He got caught up in the hype and then the beating destroyed him
Lucian is a really cool dude , really down to earth and very humble
Sad that it went down the way it did
Think about it , Bute was the first to land here bringing almond Diaconu and Dorin
Two out of the three became champions , not bad I’d say

You know he would of been the favourite to win the super six
At the time there was squabbling as to why he wasn’t invited
I don’t recall what but yeah

Damn, I was too young to remember that Bute was that highly touted. It explains why Breadman seems so high on Bute the few times that he has to speak about him in his mailbag.

Pascal is a future Hall of Famer and one Of Canada’s best ever boxers!

He’s an overachiever even with his physical talents, he beat several fighters who were technically better or better boxers all around but his will, grit, unorthodox style and heart plus chin was the determining factors for those victories!

Pascal is one of those fighters you can’t help but root for and kind of wished he was still young so we can selfishly see many more years of him in the ring!

Always brought it and always in exciting fights, even made the Bivol fight exciting and he’s a boring fighter and that says a lot about Pascal!

                Respect

Everything you said is quite accurate
The only thing is Pascal should of been somewhat more humble when he was starting to rise in the ranks
If he were he’d be huge , especially here in Canada
You could see his attitude changing after his losses against Kovi
Good for him for his achievements , knowing he got there literally by determination and grit
